Most firearms courses teach you how to shoot. Most safety courses teach you how to respond to emergencies. The Fear to Fire Weekend does both — in two intensive, hands-on days that leave you certified, equipped, and genuinely ready for whatever comes.
This is not a lecture series. This is real training — on your feet, with your hands, applying skills that matter. ERE's certified instructors bring field experience from emergency medicine, active violence response, and professional firearms instruction to every session. You'll be challenged, supported, and by the end of Day 2, you'll understand exactly why we called it Fear to Fire.

Day 01 - American red cross cpr/aed/first aid certification
Valued at $100 · 4 hours
Full hands-on Red Cross certification covering adult and pediatric CPR, AED operation, First Aid fundamentals, and choking response. Your 2-year digital certificate is issued upon completion.
Day 01 - Stop the bleed - tourniquet & bleeding control training
Valued at $50 · 1 hour
Hands-on training in tourniquet application, wound packing with hemostatic dressing, and direct pressure technique. These are the skills that bridge the gap between an injury and the arrival of emergency services.
Day 01 - AVIRT - active violence immediate response training
Valued at $80 · 3 hours
HSI-certified active violence response training covering threat recognition, evacuation strategies, shelter-in-place protocols, last-resort response, and trauma care in an active violence scenario. Hands-on. Scenario-based. Skills that save lives.
day 02 - BAsics of pistol shooting or basics of rifle shooting
(based on the weekend course you choose)

A full day on the range covering firearm safety, pistol mechanics, grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and live-fire marksmanship practice under direct instructor supervision. You'll start with safety fundamentals and finish the day shooting with genuine confidence.

Your California FSC is required by state law to purchase any firearm. ERE's DOJ Certified Instructors administer the written test on-site — pass and your certificate is issued the same day. Required to purchase a firearm in California.

None. Fear to Fire is specifically designed for people who are new to firearms, uncomfortable with firearms, or simply starting fresh. Day 1 doesn't involve firearms at all. Day 2 starts from the very beginning. You're in the right place regardless of your experience level.

Gun rentals are available at Oaktree at an additional cost. If you own a pistol and want to bring it, contact us in advance so we can confirm it's appropriate for the course.
