Ready to master the essentials of handgun safety and operation? Whether you are a first-time shooter or looking to solidify your technical foundation, our NRA Certified Basic Pistol Course provides the comprehensive training you need. This course is designed to saturate students with the core fundamentals through expert instruction and repetition, building the "muscle memory" and instinctive response necessary for safe, effective shooting.
Course Details
Date: June 13th
Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch break included)
Cost: $150
Optional Add-on: $25 Firearms Safety Certificate
Note: Range fees and ammunition are not included in the course fee and will be an additional cost.
What You Will Learn
This intensive one-day course covers everything required to handle a pistol or revolver with confidence. The curriculum includes:
Universal Safety Rules: Essential procedures for safe gun handling at all times.
Handgun Mechanics: Understanding how your firearm operates, including loading and unloading.
The Fundamentals of Marksmanship: Grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control.
Malfunction Drills: Learning to instinctively assess and rapidly clear common handgun issues.
Tactical Preparation: Drawing from a holster in a rapid, controlled manner.
Mental Conditioning: Developing situational awareness and the proper mindset for handgun use.
Required Equipment
You are encouraged to bring your own gear, though equipment can be provided upon request in advance.
Firearm: Handgun (Rentals available: 9mm, .38 S&W, and .22LR at no additional charge).
Ammunition: Minimum of 300 rounds.
Holster & Belt: Outside the waistband (OWB) holster recommended for repetitious training.
Magazines: At least 2 magazines or 1 speed loader (with appropriate pouches).
Protection: Eye and ear protection (electronic hearing protection is highly recommended).
Attire: Shirt with sleeves and a hat.
Lunch: We will break for one hour. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or visit a local spot near the range.
